The World Is Changing – Plus-size Models Are Ruling!

Gone are the days when, to Become A model, a woman needed to have no amount of body fat. In a recent Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, a Plus Size Model graced the cover for the first time. The total number of Plus Size Women is more than the average number of women in the world. Therefore, women are really ecstatic to see a woman closer to their shape in shape on the cover of such a popular magazine. This has given rise to Plus Size Model revolution as more and more women are embracing their body, just the way it is.

Here a few famous plus size models.

Ashley Graham

Ashley GrahamThis phenomenal powerhouse was discovered at a shopping mall in the year 2000, when she was just 12 years old. Since then she has featured in magazines like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Her swimsuitforall collection along with her lingerie line with Addition Elle has made her a class apart than your average size 2 model. She set a record in 2016 when she became the first ever Plus Sized Model to feature on the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

Barbie Ferreira

She is a 5-foot-8 stunner who appeared in Aerie Real ads, which was a campaign promoting American Eagle’s lounge wear line. She kept it real with unretouched photos.

Candice Huffine

Candice was a part of Lane Bryant’s campaign called “I’m no angel”, which was a jab aimed at Victoria’s Secret. She was also part of both the American and Italian Vogue, and also featured in V magazine and W magazine.

Iskra Lawrence

This model refuses to edit her Instagram photos and captioned a photo in 2015, which showed her body in a bikini, as #nofilter and #noretouching. She doesn’t consider cellulite a flaw. She is also the face of Aerie Real.

Precious Lee

She is a close friend of model, Ashley Graham and has followed her lead. Other than featuring in a Lane Bryant campaign, Lee also became the first Black Plus Size Model to feature in the 2016’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

Tara Lynn

This stunner has appeared on the cover of Elle magazine in three countries – Elle France, Elle Spain and Elle Hungary. She has also been featured in the how-to-guide, The Art of Dressing Curves, by Plus Size Stylist Susan Moses.

Zach Miko

Concluding this list and breaking the sequence is this Plus Sized Male Model. At 6-foot-6 he was the face of Target’s 2015 big-and-tall section. He is the world’s first Plus Size Male Model who has been signed by IMG.
